Bristol Brabazon
Details of model Pictures of model Pictures of aircraft Research information
The Brabazon has been modelled to a scale of 1:200 and is made of heavy-duty resin with metal component parts such as propellers, undercarriage and doors, tailskid, etc.
The rotating propellors are doubled in each nacelle to represent the contra-rotating twin-engined arrangement. All models are supplied with fixed undercarriage with rotating wheels, all carefully detailed to be in proportion and to scale. The gust alleviators are modelled in proportion to the side of the cockpit and the mass balance fairings are included on the wing surfaces as these are significant features of the aircraft. The inverted tripod tailskid is featured as well as the double aerials on top of the fuselage.
The engine nacelles are inclined upwards, the intake for the APU on the front of the fin is square, the exhaust outlets under the wing and the fuelling positions are featured all as the original aircraft.
The intention has been to create a model with a high attention to detail (as much as can reasonably be created), which is unusual in a model of this scale but which is a common feature of Crescent Models.
All models are traditionally silk strung onto a backboard within a box.
The cost of the model is £325 (pounds UK Sterling).
Where collection of the model cannot take place at any of the Aviation collector events that we attend, Crescent Models tries wherever possible to deliver the model to the customer (within a reasonable distance in the South-East of England), to avoid the possibility of any damage in transit, although the packaging has been carefully designed to wrap around the model to avoid this. An additional nominal sum of £10 (pounds UK Sterling) towards the expenses related to this will be charged.
Should you have any queries, please contact us - we would be delighted to make a model for you.
Please see the photographs page for further views of the model and its high level of detail. |
